Always on the lookout for the next strange story, back-alley legend, or suspicious cold spot, he moves through Madison with a punk-rock snarl, a cook’s stamina, and a botanist’s eye for what’s quietly growing where it shouldn’t. By day (and many late nights), he’s survived the pressure cookers of numerous Madison restaurant kitchens; by night, he can be found on local stages making noise or wandering historic streets in search of the city’s lingering dead.

A graduate of UW with a degree in botany, he knows which plants can heal you, which can poison you, and which are probably reclaiming the city long after we’re gone. His background in punk, kitchens, and science makes his tours equal parts irreverent, informative, and just unsettling enough to make you glance over your shoulder. With a foot planted firmly in the material world and an ear tuned to whatever might be whispering just beyond it, he’s committed to leaving Madison a little louder, a little stranger, and maybe a little more haunted than he found it.
